Sunday November 4 Terania Creek   short notice walk

Walk along overgrown logging trails with 2 slippery creek crossings to the cave and pool. Distance 8 km. Grade 2. Protesters Falls 1.5 km

3 November- 9 December  Protest against feral horses walk from Sydney to Kosci summit

Members are invited to join all or part of this protest walk to help save more than a dozen threatened species from the destruction of habitat by feral horses. Our club is also planning a much shorter protest: see 'What's On' in December. The main protest walk will begin in Sydney and end at the summit of Mt Kosciuszko, taking about 35 days including rest days. It will mainly follow a mixture of main roads and quiet country roads, with participants walking on footpaths or road verges. There will also be some off-road walking on tracks through national parks and reserves. From Charlotte Pass it will follow the Kosciuszko Road, closed to unauthorised vehicles, to the summit. Walkers will average about 20 km per day. Walkers can walk the entire route or a part.  for more details,


Tuesday November 6 Melbourne Cup Ride at Ocean Shores 

Meet at the Billinudgel pub. Flat 20 km cycle and a walk along the North  Head Track, where we need to lock the bikes. Coffee/optional brunch at Yum Yum Tree Cafe. Huge celebrations after as we lunch at the pub and celebrate the Melbourne Cup. Leader Gail 0421281722


Saturday November 10 Sandon River Kayak

We will meet mid morning upstream from the Sandon Village and riding the incoming tide up the main arm of the Sandon River. A relaxed lunch will be enjoyed en route and we will aim to return by mid afternoon. Distance approx. 12-15 kms, grade medium.

Some paddlers are making a weekend of this event and staying at Brooms Head Caravan Park, with Saturday night dinner at the Bowlo.

Friday to Sunday November 16 to 18 Camp at Sheepstation Creek in Border Ranges NP

Access is only via Gradys Creek Rd and Simes Rd from Wiangaree as Lynchs Creek Rd is closed or via Creegan Rd and Tweed Range Scenic Drive from Barkers Vale. Sunday November 18 to Saturday December 1 Victorian Alps   Vacancy for 1 female

This trip consists of 4 nights at Bright and Dinner Plain; 3 nights at Bogong Village and 2 nights at Mt Buller.  This is a guide to walks - walking distances approximate.  Program may vary according to weather conditions.

Sunday Meet Melbourne airport 12 noon > car hire pick up > drive to Bright.

Monday  Bright Canyon Loop 4km; Apex Walk 3kms or Wandi Walk including The Diggings 13km

OR CYCLE - Hire bikes (organise yourself) for Murray to Mountains rail trail 80km or part thereof.

Tuesday  – Mt Buffalo Day trip to Mt Buffalo The Horn 1.5km; Cathedral and the Hump 2km; Gorge Heritage walk 2.5km; Eurobin falls 1.5km

Wednesday – Beechworth historical town walk and nearby sites; free time to explore township and area.

Thursday Transfer to Dinner Plain.  Afternoon short walks Room with a View 3km return; and/or Dead Timber Hill 4km return

Friday  - Dinner Plain Cobungra Ditch walk - one way 12.5 km or circuit via Brabralung Trail 17km total

Saturday - Dinner Plain Montane Walking Track (circuit) 8.1kms with extensions to Precipice Lookout 3.8km and Carmichael Falls lookout 2km – approx. 14km total

Sunday Dinner Plain Mt Feathertop via Razorback – 22km  return.  Can shorten by not doing summit.

Monday Transfer to Bogong Village.  Lake Guy circuit walk 3kms and/or short walks at Mount Beauty 3-5 km

Tuesday – Falls Creek Walk Mt Nelse 9km return; or Healthy Spur Circuit 10kms; or combination of walks

Wednesday - Falls Creek  Wallace Hut & Cope Hut Heritage Trail 6km; then Mt Cope Summit 3km return.

Thursday Transfer to Mt Buller.  Visit Howqua Historic area and along river.

Friday – Mt Buller  Mt Stirling circuit – 5 hours

Sunday November 18 to Friday November 23 Noosaville Cycling   Fully Booked We will work on  NSW times

Sunday Meet at the Pit Stop Cafe at the Big Kart Track, 2310 Steve Irwin Way, Landsborough at 11 am.

After coffee we will park across the way and cycle along the Ferny Forest Loop, 9km 125m climbing. After we will drive to the dam wall and ride the easy Ewen route, 275 m climbing, 20 km (no climb more than 30m)  hopefully finding a spot by the water’s edge for a picnic lunch. We than drive to our accommodation. BBQ dinner at Sunset Cove, 6-10 Robert St, Noosaville

Monday Cycle from Sunset Cove to Mudjima along the Surf Beaches Trail. Distance around  70  km return. Picnic lunch somewhere along the beach. OPTION Cycle to Coolum along the Surf Beaches Trail Distance 48 km.

Tuesday. Meet at the car park near the summit of Mt Tinbeerwah at 8.50 am for a very short climb to the top. Great views all around.. The mountain bikers will then drive to the Wooroi Day Use Parking Area in Tewantin NP to negotiate around 30 km of bike trails. OPTION Road bikers drive to the Tewantin Marina and cycle to Doonella Lake before returning for coffee. Afterwards head to the ferry and explore  Noosa North Shore. A packed lunch should be taken for both parties. Dinner at The Magic of India 3/187 Thomas St Noosaville at 6.30 pm.

Wednesday Meet at Sunset Cove at 8.30 am to cycle to Lake Cooroibah and then on to Cootharaba and then ending at Boreen Point. Boreen Point is the lunch stop for both cycling groups at the historic Apollonian Hotel. Cycle directly back to Noosaville. Distance around 66 km with 460 m elevation gain. OPTION Meet at Sunset Cove at 9 am and cycle to Tewantin for coffee before cycling direct to Boreen Point via Lake Cooroibah. Total distance 48 km.

Thursday Cycle to Noosaville National Park. Lock up the bikes and explore the trails. Cycle to Noosa Woods, have a coffee and a walk round Noosa. Rest of the day is free. OPTION Drive to Maleny NP for a day of mountain biking.

Friday Leave early and travel down the coast to climb Mt Coolum. Then drive to Currimundi Lake and cycle to Golden Beach, Caloundra and back stopping somewhere for coffee and perhaps lunch before heading back home. Distance around 24 km.  Organiser Ian 0459496194
