Saturday September 1 Wardell to South Ballina Cycle

Meeting at Wardell, crossing the bridge and following the river all the way to South Ballina Wall, passing through Empire Vale on the way.

We’ll be stopping for lunch at South Ballina Beach Holiday Park Cafe - so registrations required by Wednesday 29 August please to finalise the booking numbers. After lunch, we’ll return along the river, hopefully with a northerly up our tails to propel us home after all that food!

Walk from Sharpes Beach carpark to Lennox Head via headlands track. Scenic leisurely walk with birdlife and whale views. Mid-morning start, grade 2, 11km round trip. Bring something to eat along the way or else food with coffee in Lennox. No forward notice is necessary.

Saturday September 15 Mt Warning Sunset walk

Walk up to the summit in the afternoon to watch the sunset around 5.40pm. Near the top is a long near vertical rock scramble with a chain.  Return as it gets dark so good torches and head lamps are required! Car pool from Uki as car parking is limited. Maybe have dinner at Uki pub afterwards.  Limit 10 club members only. 9 km, 5 to 6 hours, grade 3.

Saturday September 22 Evans Head Walk

Walk from headland at south end of town following trails close to shoreline, onto Chinamans Beach. Walk around beach to headland at north end of Bombing Range Beach. Return via bush tracks. Approximately 9 km. Grade:  Grade 2

Monday September 24 David Fleay Wildlife Park to Burleigh Heads return  (Short n Easy = walk one-way)

This gentle, morning walk (paved) starts at the David Fleay Wildlife Park (DFWP) car park, skirting around the park, and following the Tallebudgera Creek until it winds up to a road, which then leads down to the Gold Coast Highway (GCH). Crossing the Highway, you then enter the Burleigh Heads National Park, and begin the coastal walk to Burleigh Heads for a rest and a coffee.  

The return walk will follow the inland bush walk through Burleigh Heads NP, and then the same route from the GCH to DFWP. Walkers can choose to walk back or take Uber/Taxi assistance for the return journey, (about $10 for up to 4 people per Uber vehicle).

Saturday September 29 Marshalls Creek Kayak

Morning departure at Brunswick from the beach at the end of Mona Lane.  High tide is 1.4m at 11:00 am at the heads.  We will catch the tide in both directions to Billinudgel, an interesting journey through a nature reserve, about 18km total 5 hrs.  We will have morning tea/coffee at Yum Yums along the way.  Bring lunch also.  Leader Greg M, 0427 949375

Circuit walk from Minyon Grass Picnic area with sidetrips to the pool at the base of  the falls and Condong Falls. 10 km,  Grade 3
