Friday to Tuesday June 5 to 9 Cooloola Great Walk FULLY BOOKED

This is a beautiful walk that covers such a variety of terrain - really pretty coastal heath with panoramic ocean views, huge sand blows, littoral rainforest, many different types of Eucalypt forest, the serene and pristine Noosa River, iconic-looking Australian Tea Tree lakes with gums growing out of them and other wetlands. All the good stuff. Beach walking is only on the last afternoon of the walk; the rest is other terrain.

We start this 88+km walk in Rainbow Beach and after 5 days and 4 nights, end at Noosa's North Shore. Having done this walk previously from south to north, this leader knows that north to south is actually the better way to go for many reasons that can be explained if required.

There are 4 well-maintained campgrounds along the way. They are walk-in only, therefore just for Cooloola Great Walkers. In order of north to south they are Kauri, Littoria, Dutgee & Brahminy. They all have untreated drinking water, a composting hybrid toilet system (with no toilet paper) & low level tables in the group area to cook and hang out on. Campfires are not allowed, so we'll need to bring our own stoves.

These chosen dates go over a long weekend in NSW but not QLD where the walk is, which means that we can enjoy QLD territory but without too many QLDers. Having said that, much of the Cooloola Great Walk trail is only available to people doing the actual walk. Grade 4 Limit 8 walkers
