Saturday 1st ~ Sunday 2nd June. Abseil Toonumbar N.P. 50m then 50m

Saturday drive up to the start of the walk. 2km track walk then bush for 500m to first abseil of 50m ish. Swim out of falls pool to rocks scarper down to the next 50m down off repeat procedure from first.

Retrieve equipment. Climb around the falls scarper to the next climb around the falls and retrieve equipment. Make our way back to the cars 2km.

Sunday morning Recce of the top half of Cobb o Corn creek starting just below the bottom falls. Limit of 10.

(Thursday 23 May, 7pm &) Sat 1 - Sun 2 June. Overnight hiking workshop and camp-out.

This workshop on lightweight equipment and dehydrated food will show you how to pack for multi-day hikes which can get you to otherwise unreachable places as well as iconic walks like The Overland or the Larapinta.

We will follow this up with an overnight hike in Nightcap National Park: up Red Rd, camping on the Mt Jerusalem track near the lookout across Doon Doon valley. Day 2 is along the Nightcap track, past the tea tree lookout with views to Byron Bay, past the postman's tree and returning down North Rocks Rd. Sunday June 2 Doon Doon Saddle, Nightcap Bluff, Postman's Tree

Meeting at Wilsons Creek we will walk up Red Rd to Doon Doon saddle, join the historic Nightcap track up to Nightcap Bluff with views back to Byron Bay, then past the Postman's Tree and back down North Rocks Rd. Monday 3rd June STAY 2 nights at Walcha Caravan Park > has 12 cabins of varying configurations. Other accommodation available in area eg Motel, Air BNB etc. WALK: Meet 3pm for town walk > Open Air Gallery, Historic Building Walk.

Tuesday 4th June WALKS: Tia Falls, Oxley Wild Rivers National Park. 38kms east of Walcha. Tia Falls 1.5km return; Tiara walk 5kms return; and Apsley Falls 19kms east of Walcha Gorge Rim Walk 450m and River Walk 500m and Oxley walk 3km return.

Wednesday 5th June Explore Walcha in morning eg outdoor sculpture park > Drive to Uralla >visit to Saumarez National Trust property. The historic house may not be open, but the grounds, farm buildings and extensive rose garden are. Dinner at Bowling Club (optional)

STAY: 2 nights at Armidale Tourist Park, 39 Waterfall Way

Thursday 6th June 10am Meet at Tourist Info Centre > Heritage Tour of Armidale 2.5 hours by bus. Donation. As the bus only has 15 seats, I will be booking ahead. Lunch at Armidale Art Gallery or elsewhere. WALK: Meet 2pm at Armidale Tourist Park > Gara Gorge 18kms drive > Threfall Circuit 5.5kms

Friday 7th June Drive to New England NP – approx. 65kms…..stopping at Wollomombi Gorge on the way.

WALK: Wollomombi Gorge – approx. 4kms or just lookouts….depending on time. STAY 3 nights at New England NP.

National Parks have 3 houses to rent in the park – The Residence, The Chalet, Tom’s Cabin – as well as a camping ground at Thungutti

1 house and 2 cabins are at www.twostyz.com.au > located at entrance to NP.

WALK: 2pm walk out to Wrights Lookout > using the Robinson’s Knob Trail. Meet at parking area just inside NP on right (near staff house). Walk is approximately 4.5kms return > easy walking but a short scramble up rocks to Wrights Lookout.

Saturday 8th June WALK: Starting at Tom’s Cabin > walk to Lyrebird Track and Tree Fern Valley > and return along top of escarpment – approx. 7kms and Cascades Circuit (4kms, 2 hours) will be added as another option. Steep and slippery sections on both walks.

Sunday 9th June WALK: Cathedral Rocks – out to Woolpack Rocks and back 12.6kms return; or shorter circuit around Cathedral Rock 5.8kms.

Monday 10th June WALK: 8.30am Starting at Banksia Point Picnic Area > Eagles Nest Track 2.5kms (2 hours) > has steep sections, walking poles recommended. This track goes past Weeping Rock…arriving at Point Lookout….then back the easier way to Banksia Point Picnic area.

Or Tea Tree Falls walk >Tom’s Cabin to Thungutti Camping – 45 minutes each way.

Friday June 7 to Monday June 10 Conondale Range Great Walk, Sunshine Coast Hinterland CANCELLED

This is a well established Queensland Great Walk of 4 days over 56 km, from the valley through deep gorges to the top of the Conondale Range and back again. We will see ancient rainforest, cascading water falls, crystal clear creeks, tall open forest and expansive views. The walk-in-only camp sites have water and a toilet but no paper. To be eligible for this walk you must have 1) reasonable pack walking experience, 2) good fitness, 3) gear suitable for 5 degrees Celsius. Saturday 8 June 3838 Chasm Nightcap NP

We walk along fire roads, morning tea at a lookout near Snows Gully, then on to 3838 Gorge, not really a Gorge but a huge crack in the rock forming the escarpment overlooking the Wanganui Gorge and Coopers Creek. We walk along the bottom of the crack amidst lush rainforest and massive boulders. Some rock scrambling is required here. We climb out to a lookout for lunch. A small amount of exposure on the climb out. Return via a different route. Distance 10km Grade 3 Map Huonbrook

If you haven't been there now is your chance.

Two Pitches 10m then 70m. Easy climb in and out. The seventy in usually in water with half in contact the other first half in the water and roots flow with no wall. A fun abseil.

Four day walk starting at Angourie through coastal heathland, along sandy beaches, rocky platforms and with four assisted river and creek crossings finishing at Red Rock. 65km walk with 18kms being the longest sections. Saturday June 15 - Paddle Bagotville Barrage.

No tidal flow issues here so a relaxed mid-late morning start from the Barrage paddling upstream into Tuckean Nature Reserve, exploring a protected wetland containing paddler friendly canals. Thursday June 20 to Thursday July 4 Interlaken Switzerland FULLY BOOKED

The annual walking trip put on by a selection of Lancashire Rambling Clubs that has been supported in the last two years by approx 30 of our club members. The walks are spectacular away from the main tourist areas. The cost is reasonable. The whole experience is unforgettable. The staff at the hotel (Waldhotel Unspunnen) including the owner, Stefan are part of the “family”. The rambling clubs have been organising this trip for over 40 years and are experts in ensuring a fully enjoyable holiday on the best of the area’s spectacular walking trails. Saturday 22 June Christies Creek Mooball NP

Mooball NP is south of Murwullumbah. Christies Creek is in a lovely rainforest valley nestled in the schlerophyll hills of the Burringbah Range that the old Pacific Highway (infamously) went over. We park off Cooradilla Road at the start of a fire trail (Baranbali Road) We walk east and go up and over Burringbah Trig down a scrambly slope to back on the fire road. We then branch off north on a ridge that descends to Christies Creek. We rockhop up the very pretty creek, heading south-westerly. Lunch by a sparkling pool. Up scramble out of the valley to Cooradilla Road then back to the cars. There is a possibillity of getting your boots wet if you slip on the rocks. We will AWD up North Rocks Rd to the gate into Nightcap National Park, then walk down Tungun Rd and scramble up the waterfalls and cascades, over Gibbergunyah Rd and all the way up to the postman's track. Return will be through Doon Doon saddle and Oscars Rd. Grade 4. Leader Steve, 0414 312 917

Sunday June 30 Tuntable Falls Nightcap NP

A pleasant walk down through rainforest from Mt Nardi, all on track, to a T intersection where we turn right. A short distance on we again turn right and follow a closed track to the creek - will involve some bush bashing following an overgrown track to the top of the falls, returning the same way. A pretty walk of about 12 -14 km. Grade 3.
