Saturday January 12 Lower Rocky Creek Day Walk Nightcap NP FULLY BOOKED
This is a beautiful scramble and rock hop from one causeway to another in the lower Rocky Creek area, mostly along the creek itself, with stunning waterfalls and pools abound. Having recced this area with Shane and David, we can confidently say that it sits between a Grade 4 & 5 on a dry day. It can be prickly and there are some steep sections, so protective clothing and good grip shoes are a must. The entire recce took us about 5 hours, including breaks, so bring lunch and morning tea, as well as afternoon tea for after the event, if you so desire. Map Huonbrook. Wednesday January 30 Presentation by Kate Clow about the Lycian Way in Turkey
Kate Clow initiated the linking of ancient roads to create a long distance trail which opened in 1999. She wrote a comprehensive guide book about it and some members are interested in walking it. She lives in the UK now but is visiting Murwillumbah at the moment. This is a great opportunity to get information and impressions about the walk and the area. The presentation will start at 7.30 pm at Crawford House in Alstonville.
