Saturday June 6 - Sunday July 5 - Kayak - Eltham to Moonem over 5 days in 5 weeks

In years gone by, there was an annual 4-day 90km paddle from Lismore to Ballina called the Paddle for Life which raised money for a couple of local charities. This trip invokes memories of that event while making a couple of exciting improvements. Who knows - in time, this could become an annual event too. All trips will be one-way so car shuffles will be required. It is not necessary to commit to all days. Just one is fine if that is all you can make.

Saturday June 6 (morning) - Kayak Eltham to Boatharbour via Wilsons River (POSTPONED TO A LATER DATE)

Eltham to Boatharbour via Wilsons River (this will be contingent on a reccy Scott will do the week before to make sure there is a clear run). There will be some moving water and at least one rapid. We will have snacks on the water and lunch at the Eltham Hotel afterwards. Distance 22 km, grade hard.

Saturday June 6 (morning) - Casino - McDonald Park to Cooks Weir return - 17km - Grade medium.

Between Jabour Weir and Cooks Weir in Casino, a lovely pool of flat fresh Richmond River water follows a peaceful winding path through casuarina and callistemon decorated banks for almost 10 km. It is not one of the best-known paddling destinations in the Northern Rivers but your first adventure here is unlikely to be your last. We are meeting at the boat ramp in McDonald Park at the end of Fergusson Street in Casino for a 17 km return paddle to Cooks Weir. There will also be an optional extra 2km paddle to Jabour Weir at the end for anyone who is interested. We will stop for a snack along the way and we will have a picnic lunch in McDonald Park afterward.
