Saturday, Sunday, Monday 5th, 6th, 7th October Abseil Border Ranges NP. FULLY BOOKED
Iconic adventure only done twice before in the club's history. We camp at Forest Top Camping Ground Friday night. Saturday morning early plant a shuttle car at the saddle below Forest Top we then drive up to the Pinnacle and park the cars. We then go West into the bush and find the source of Lynch's Creek. Then we spend the day descending through (from memory) 7 waterfalls some of which are pretty tricky. Hopefully we will reach the bottom before dark. We will then look for a good camp spot on the banks of the creek for the night. It will be a light camp under tarp. In the morning we will travel down stream rock hopping for about 7km to below the saddle where the shuttle car is waiting. Here we will decide on whether or not to continue downstream another 2.98km to Horseshoe Falls (only to the base for a look see, we will leave heavy gear for our return) arriving back at the spot below the car there is a severe 1.2km and 400m climb to the car. Due to the time it will take to get everyone down this event will be limited to the best 6 abseilers. Leader Shane abseiling.nrbc@gmail.com 0427 557823
