Sunday December 1 Celebrate the first day of Summer: Belongil Treehouse to Tyagarah Tea Tree Lake Walk
The Tyagarah Tea Tree Lake is safe and pristine once again. Having recce'd it recently on a Sunday, the small number of visitors to this peaceful, still and beautiful lake were clothed and decent. Locals say that it has been that way since early 2018, when the Byron Shire Council began enforcing its 'clothing mandatory' policy via heavy fines to anyone found nude beyond the beach, as well as surveillance cameras.
We will start early at the Belongil Treehouse, then walk up the beach to the lake, where we will have morning tea and a swim before heading back down the beach. If it's a really hot day, we can dip into the ocean during our walks up and back to the lake. Lunch at the Belongil Treehouse is then optional after the walk.
The Tyagarah Tea Tree Lake is the most beautiful of the various tea tree lakes in our Northern Rivers area because it's completely surrounded by pretty bush, with a post-card look and serene stillness. It was out of bounds for too long because it was 'overtaken' by predatory behaviour, however that's now changed. Having said that, there will be some nude people as we walk up the 500m stretch of Tyagarah Beach where clothing is still optional. Clothing is mandatory however in the bushland behind the beach, where the lake is.
Grade 2, approx. 9km return, 3-4 hours (depending on the number of swims we have and how fast we choose to walk).

Sunday December 15 Annual Christmas Party at Crams Farm Dairy, Clarrie Hall Dam
We will gather around 12, with a potluck lunch. Bring something you would love to eat and share. Don't forget to bring cutlery, plates . This year we are aiming to be plastic free. No plastic tablecloths, and hopefully zero waste.
Later in the year, those of us who like to sew will gather together to make Christmas themed bunting which can be used instead of our usual decorations. There will be kayaking and bushwalking on the day. More details about the party and making the bunting closer to the time.

Sunday December 15 Nunga Rock Walk Mt Jerusalem NP
This walk will only go ahead if the area is declared open by NPWS. Meet at 9:30 at Crams Farm to carpool 5 km to the end of Rockface Road, for a short (1 to 1 1/2 hour) off track walk to an interesting sandstone outcrop near Nunga Road in Mt Jerusalem National Park. There is about 50% canopy cover to give us some shade if it’s a hot day. About half the walk is on tracks, and then fairly easy off track, but watch out for sharp sticks on the ground, slippery dry leaves on the sloping ground, one place where you slide down on your backside for 1m. You will need shoes or boots, gaiters or long pants. We then return to Crams Farm for the start of the party. Distance 2km Grade 3 Leader Tom 0413 398 395
